Gardens of Time is a unique hidden object game that doesn’t really have a plot to offer but instead it offers a twist on the regular hidden object formula. Instead of one single storyline to follow, you’ll travel through time to different areas and find different kinds of hidden object scenes to solve. It’s something that hasn’t been done before and it works out quite nicely in the end.
When you start the game for the first time you’ll go through a tutorial phase built to teach you all the crucial things about Gardens of Time. This tutorial will explain how you can enter hidden object scenes through the time machines, how you can decorate your garden with ornaments and will give a bunch of other useful information. Along with this you’re also given a fair bit of incentives for completing tasks in the tutorial which makes it worth everyone’s while.
There are two major things involved in the gameplay of Gardens of Time. First are of course the hidden object scenes. Simply click the time machine, select a scene of your choice and you’ll be taken there. The hidden object scenes are well designed and provide a pretty good challenge without ever becoming too tedious. The second key gameplay element is garden decoration.
When you travel through time to solve hidden object scenes you’ll often times be rewarded with ancient ornaments or they’ll be unlocked in the store for you. Your objective is to decorate your garden as best as you can by utilizing these pre-historic artifacts, ornaments and statues. Both of these gameplay elements mesh very well with each other and are overall really enjoyable.
Moving onto the visuals, Gardens of Time isn’t really top of the line material when it comes to graphics but it certainly doesn’t disappoint. Albeit there aren’t any high definition visuals to look out for, the presentation of the game is really nice and clean. All the hidden object scenes have a lot of detail to them and the garden you’re supposed to decorate looks absolutely beautiful once you’ve done some work on it.
It’s worth noting that not all hidden object scenes are unlocked right from the get-go. You’ll have to level-up and steadily progress through each and every bit of the game to unlock further hidden object scenes. There’s of course the option of unlocking them through the premium currency of Gold bars. Gold bars can be acquired through real world money or they’re also given to you on certain occasions for example when leveling up.
Gardens of Time is a really enjoyable hidden object game that tries to take a new spin on the traditional formula and successfully pulls it off.
